James Belanger

In the 1970s, James Belanger encouraged his industrial abrasives business to experiment with soft cloth as an application option for professional car washing. The experiment led to the creation of one of the industry’s leading equipment manufacturers, Belanger, Inc.  Accepting on behalf of the late James Belanger was his wife, Nancy, and son, Richard.

Dr. Joseph Enning
 Mr. Wash Auto-Service 

Dr. Joseph Enning is a true legend in the professional car wash industry, with most notable achievements in the area of frictionless car washing. His revolutionary concept with innovative equipment designs drove the growth of this vehicle cleaning method in both the United States and Europe.  Dr. Enning now owns a chain of car washes in Germany under the Mr. Wash brand.  Accepting on behalf of Dr. Joe Enning was his son, Richard.

2009 Environmental Leadership Award
Bill Sartor
Quality Car Wash, Inc.

  Bill Sartor is perhaps the one person most responsible for the increasingly positive perception had by water regulators about the professional car wash industry.  His groundbreaking work with the San Antonio Water System helped develop a car wash certification program to protect washes during times of drought and set the stage for the International Carwash Association’s WaterSavers™ program and countless certification programs.

Laurie Sherman

   Laurie Sherman (center) has dedicated many years of time and talent to the Association.  She has been a member of the Board of Directors, has served two years as the Vendor Vice President, and is currently a member of the Research Advisory Committee.
